Alhaji (Dr.) Sikiru O. Olowoyo – (BOT Vice-Chairman)

Alhaji Dr. Sikiru Olalekan Olowoyo hails from the noble and popular family of Alh. Junaid Olowoyo of Idemo, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. He was born 40 years ago to the (Late) Alhaji. Ganiy Akanni Olowoyo, who was a Muslim, Politician and a successful Business Tycoon in Ado Ekiti.
He had a Bachelor’s Degree (B. Agric.) in Agricultural Economics and Extension Services from the former University of Ado Ekiti now Ekiti State University with Second Class (Upper Division). Master’s Degree (M. Agric.) in Agricultural Economics and Farm Management from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State with PhD grade. And his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Agricultural Economics (Environmental and Resource Economics Option) at the Federal University of Oye, Oye – Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In 2007, He worked with Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority (LASADA), Oko Oba, Agege, Lagos State under the Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Unit as a student in Industrial Training. In 2010, he had a little stint at Researcher’s Academy, Ihama Street, Airport Road, Benin City as Economics and Mathematics Tutor. In 2011, He started his business, Green Connect Dynamic Concept (GCDC), a registered Agro Consult firm in Ado Ekiti dealing with agricultural inputs supply and consultancy services. In 2014, he joined Ekiti State Civil Service as Agric. Planning Officer II, GL08 Step 2 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and rose to Step 5 before he resigned in 2018 to contest 2018 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State as the Deputy Governorship candidate of Independent Democrats (ID).

In 2019, He founded Green Global Environmental Network (GGEN), an environmental NGO for Awareness and Advocacy on Environmental challenges in Ekiti State. He is the Executive Director in the Organization.
